Raj Kumar Bhatia is the Vice President of BJP Delhi Pradesh and the elected MLA from Adarsh Nagar, known for his lifelong commitment to public service, social welfare, and grassroots development.

Personal Journey

Born into a humble farming family in Hansi (Hisar), Haryana, Raj Kumar Bhatia moved to Delhi with his parents at an early age. Following in his father’s footsteps, he initially pursued farming and later became actively involved in the fruit trade at Azadpur Mandi, one of Asia’s largest markets.

He completed his early education in a government school and graduated from Khalsa College, Delhi University. During his college years, he was a national-level basketball player in the 1980s. His journey into public life began as an active member of Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP), which ignited his lifelong dedication to politics and service.

Social Commitment

Nurtured in the values of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), Raj Kumar Bhatia has always worked with a vision to uplift the marginalized and underserved. He is a founding member of “Chaupal,” a microfinance initiative focused on women’s empowerment and self-reliance.

His guiding principle remains:
“Serving the helpless is the highest form of worship — not just through words, but through action.”

Inspired by the thoughts of Bharat Ratna Nanaji Deshmukh, he believes in fighting for those who are neglected, oppressed, and left behind.

Roti Bank Initiative

A key highlight of his service is the “Roti Bank”, a food donation movement he co-founded with three friends. What began as a small initiative has now become a widely respected campaign in Delhi, feeding the hungry and making a real impact for over nine years.
